"The laser is a powerful light that caught the attention of Nam June Paik. The laser can be used to cut strong iron, hurts eyes and heal the eyes of the blind. Technology makes power, and our life in the 21st century is driven by the technology of power. Then where is technology taking us?" (Oro Minkyung)
As a program in connection with the exhibition Transmission, Nam June Paik Art Center invites contemporary artists to present a live performance, which they have explored Paik’s Transmission Tower in their own work trajectories. From the intense light of the laser, Oro Minkyung's live performance Little Hearts, Strong Consolation reflects on the power of technology; Jeho Yun's laser performance creates a scene where the past and present communicate through the laser beam of Paik's Transmission Tower; and the exhibition tour will helps visitors to see and hear Paik's messages about technology, communication, and the media environment while viewing works throughout the NJP Art center.
