NAM JUNE PAIK
MEDIA ART FESTIVAL
The Nam June Paik Media Art Festival is a media art festival that brings Nam June Paik’s artistic spirit into the present moment. Inspired by Paik’s concepts of festivals, celebrations, and shamanic rituals (gut), it connects art and technology, humans and nature, and the local with the global to experiment with the possibilities of future culture.
Launching in 2026 to mark the 20th anniversary of Nam June Paik’s passing, it is the first global media art festival held in his name. Based at the Nam June Paik Art Center, the festival will take place annually, aiming to serve as an open platform where Paik’s artistic legacy meets contemporary art to generate new questions and practices.
