Han Uri
2025
Han Uri explores disappearing objects through video, photography, books, and installations, focusing on various ways of perceiving them. By examining the relationships between image and language, fiction and reality, she traces what distinguishes the old from the new, the discarded from the accepted, aiming to reframe contemporary everyday life. Recently, she has shown interest in the disappearing 16mm film and its temporality. While dichotomous thinking that separates the digital and the analog is common, she believes that understanding media through the relationships it creates, rather than the medium itself, offers better insight into the role of current media technologies and opens new perspectives on the concepts of time. She recently held a solo exhibition Loop: The Tail Wagging the Dog(Amado Art Space, 2024) and participated in group exhibitions including Minibus, Oort Cloud, Fluttering Pages(ARKO Art Center), Images(Hite Collection, 2023) and It was the way of walking through narrative(BOAN1942, 2023).
