Untitled reads, “Gyeonggi Governor Lim, from the Suwon Paiks, Nam June Paik.” The project to build an art museum of Nam June Paik began when Chang-yeol Lim, the then governor of Gyeonggi Province, came to New York to visit the artist in 1999. In 2002, Governor Lim and Kyu-seh Lee, a chairman of the provincial assembly, visited New York again to discuss details of the acquisition, exhibition, and preservation of Paik’s works. They entered into an MOU with him to drive this project in full swing. This drawing produced in the same year contains Paik’s typical motifs of a sun-like flower and vehicles.
