Joan Jonas―The More-than-Human World is the first monograph published in Korea on the work of American artist Joan Jonas (b. 1936), recipient of the 8th Nam June Paik Prize. Featuring 103 works in 312 plates, the volume offers a broad overview of more than sixty years of her artistic practice, from early performances and videos to later multimedia works and recent projects shaped by ecological concerns.
The publication also includes essays by Korean writers in the fields of art history, literature, and anthropology, alongside a contribution by artist Sung Hwan Kim and a memoir by Joan Jonas herself. Full English translations of all texts are provided, allowing international readers to gain a broader understanding of how her work has been interpreted and presented in Korea.
