This work includes flowers, the sun, a heart, and a comical female nude. As written on the lower-left corner, Nam June Paik depicts the Garden of Eden in the Book of Genesis. Far from sophistication, the seemingly haphazard scribbling reflects the artist’s frustration caused by the aftermath of his illness on the one hand; the energy that primary colors and reckless lines deliver, however, also emanates Paik’s ceaseless aspirations for art-making.
