This work reads, “Piano Rhapsody For Steve Vitiello” with a couple of misspellings. The lower part looks like a musical score of horizontal lines and simplified notes, with the numbers 33, 45, 78 added, which may refer to the playing speed of LPs. Video and sound artist Stephen Vitiello was greatly influenced by Nam June Paik when they first met in 1991. Vitiello filmed Paik’s performance Piano Concert in SeOUL-NYmAx: A Celebration of Arts without Borders in 1994 and 1997, and also collaborated with Paik for his Tiger Lives in 1999 and Modulation in Sync in 2000.
