《Field Memory》 Artist Talk
2022. 10. 15.
Artists Heecheon Kim and Okkyung Lee will give a talk in conjunction with the exhibition Field Memeory. Celebrating Nam June Paik’s 90th anniversary, Nam June Paik Art Center commissioned a sound work Field Memory, which portrays a person who remembers only what (s)he hears with ears, not what (s)he sees with eyes. Artists Talk will be moderated by Kim Seong Eun, Director of Nam June Paik Art Center.
Kim Heecheon’s complex video installations are deeply rooted in his personal experience, opening up the possibility for dual visual discourses that combine internal feelings, informed by his immediate surroundings. His works are in the collections of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Seoul Museum of Art, Nam June Paik Art Center, Han Nefkens Foundation, among others.
Okkyung Lee is a cellist, composer, and improviser who moves freely between artistic disciplines and contingencies. Since 2000 she has worked in disparate contexts as a solo artist and collaborator with creators in a wide range of disciplines. She has released more than 30 albums, including the latest release Na-Reul on Corbett vs. Dempsey, Yeo-Neun on Shelter Press, and Teum(The Silvery Slit) on GRM Portraits/Editions Mego.
